Description
The TEC1-12706 is a high-performance thermoelectric Peltier cooling module that operates on the Peltier effect to create an instant temperature differential . When powered with a DC voltage, one side of the module becomes cold while the opposite side becomes hot, making it ideal for cooling, heating, and precise temperature control applications . This solid-state device has no moving parts, ensuring vibration-free, noise-free, and highly reliable operation .
The module features 127 semiconductor couples arranged in a compact 40mm x 40mm x 3.6mm footprint, delivering a maximum cooling power of up to 60W . It operates at a maximum voltage of 15.4V DC and current of 6.4A, with a maximum temperature difference (ΔT) of 68°C between its hot and cold sides . By simply reversing the polarity, the hot and cold sides can be swapped instantly .
Common applications include mini refrigerators, water chillers, CPU cooling systems, portable coolers, laser diode cooling, medical instruments, and custom thermal management projects . These modules must always be used with a heat sink on the hot side to prevent internal overheating and damage .
